Gilmore Gaybirds

I LOVE Gilmore Girls. Like seriously I have all 7 seasons on DVD. I subject my dad into watching them with me and when they are on ABC family.
Today was Rory's graduation and the day that Logan proposes, naturally I squeal like a little girl and this is what happens

OMG Dad Logan proposed to Rory!!!

So what? I don't like Logan they're all mushy lovey and dripping with fake love its not real. Now Luke, I like Luke.

**End of episode when Rory tells Logan no**

DAD! Rory told Logan no!

Good for her!

And he dumped her!!!

Well what do you expect, he's a gaybird.

Vegan Friendly

Okay so I clearly am not a vegan, I don't really care if you are as long as you have a better reason than 'oh those poor animals!'. One thing I have noticed however is that vegan friendly food places are by far the best places I have ever eaten.
Dad offered the thought that because most of the vegan friendly places are little mom and pop type places they are not commercialized. They actually cook their own food, fresh food, not from bags. Most big name places have pre cooked food that just needs to be heated and served. This is very true smaller places actually care about their food quality and customer service.
But I'm not just talking about the food. I'm also talking about the atmosphere, the service, and the people. The Pop Shop in Collingswood NJ is my favorite. Put aside the 32 different kinds of grilled cheese, the hand cut fries, the fresh lemonade. The people that work their are a vast variety. They do not discriminate against tattoos or piercings. The waiters are outgoing and funny and they really care about what you think about the food. They are vegan friendly and I'll be damned if I meet anyone who does not love their food. Vegetables have never tasted so good.

Words of a Monster

I affectionately call my brother my monster, amongst other things. And this kid it witty and quick and slightly random. Here are a few things that he has said that I have written down, put on facebook or tweeted.

- Guys, I'd really like to hug the squirrels but they just keep running away from me!

- Johnny5: Sam, can we go see that Tangled movie?
Me: Sure bud
Tommy: I am not going to see that movie. It's a girly movie!
Johnny5: Shut up Tommy, you're a girly movie!

- Okay so you have to be at level 5 to kill the zombie dogs and remember that you always want the zombies to have green circles on them, that means insta-kill.

- Ben, can I eat you alive? I mean like when I turn into a zombie. I'll eat Tee-tee first, then you Ben, but I won't eat my Sami.

- Johnny5: Sam, I know what I want to do with my life. I'll be a face painter.
Me: Like the guy at the Franklin Institute?
Johnny5: Yeah like him, but I'll do that on my days off and weekends the rest of the time I'll be a teacher
Me: What kind of teacher? Like Math or Science or like grades?
Johnny5: Like for 5 year olds. (he means kindergarten)

- Sami...wolverine isn't real. He's just a guy in a costume.

- Ben: Jay! We're going to see real zombies?!
Johnny5: YES! I knew it! The kids at school told me that zombies weren't real but I knew thems was lying!!!!

- If you kill the stink bugs they smell and it calls in reinforcements!!!

Johnny 5

This is my brother Giovanni. I call him Johnny 5. Why? Because he is army obsessed, like the army robot from Short Circuit, and Giovanni translates to Johnny. He is the light of my life, the reason I get up, the reason I try to be a better person, and I am not quiet sure I would be me or where I am without him.

Johnny 5 was born after I lost my grandfather, who was my best friend, and my first dog. I am not sure if it was because of this perfect timing that we are the way we are but I don't really care. I was at rough spot and this little baby with green eyes pulled me out of the dark. I was angry and hurt and so so mad, but when I saw him I knew I had to protect him. Here was the most perfect baby I have ever seen and I did not want him to ever feel pain, or hurt, or scared, or intimidated by anything.

Now I have a younger sister, but I was only 9 when she was born and we got everything we ever wanted anyway so how was I supposed to help her.

But Johnny 5 was to be raised as my grandfather had raised me and that was with never having to want for anything too long, never learning what "you can't do that" meant.

Some people tell me I spoil my brother and I can't do that forever. They are right, I will have to die sometime. But until then, I will be with him so long as he wants me. I do go over the top on holidays and birthdays and even sometimes on our weekend outings, but guess what if holiday and birthdays weren't extravagant or over the top..they'd be called regular days. And when my brother looks back at his life he's going to remember all the places we went and how his birthdays were great and holidays were insane and he will hopefully teach his kids this way.

Johnny 5 is my best friend and we do have great times and I have never loved anything so much in my life as I do him. I hope I rub this view of life off on him because as long as you have food on the table and a roof over your head why not make the best out of life and fill it with things you want, the people you love, and laughter.

I SPY

So, Benjamin, my boyfriend has a tendency to shout things out when he sees them. Usually things he likes. Like "OH look a honda!"
So I decided that I was going to do the same thing to him one day except my shouting was just random.
And I said.."See it's annoying right? I don't get it?!"
His response was "Sam, I like to live my life like a game of I SPY okay? It makes me happy!"
Yeah that shut me up. Sometimes I just have NO comeback for the stuff that happens in my life. I just sit there wide-eyed like a guppy fish..

Customer Service/ Retail

Okay so it's no big surprise that I have worked in retail since I was 16. And I have seen some shit!!! First let me tell you what annoys me::
- When you have a question you do NOT just start talking to someone. You ASK, "excuse me do you work here?" then proceed with your question. This once happened to me in target, where I do not work, and then when I got an attitude from the lady following us down the toy isle just talking she called ME rude. No hoe, you're in the wrong.
-Shouting across the store is completely unacceptable! If you are that lazy you cannot take 5 steps and walk toward someone then seriously you aren't worth my time!
-Putting your money on the counter and sliding it to me will only get you one thing. The death stare... That is so rude. That's like saying you are better than me, when guess what I'll be the one you're paying $150 an hour to figure out why your kids are so screwed up. Now who's the better one?

Things I like::
-Playing with cute little kids that tell me they love me
-Being able to dress up for Halloween, wear my I heart Santa shirt on Christmas, and getting to eat junk food all the time
-Customers that are making a difference and letting me in on the story
-Customers that have serious stories that they feel like they can share and I just want to hug them.
-Getting a discount at saladworks. =p

Public Restroom Etiquette

Okay not only do I think it's weird when someone tries to talk to you when you are using the bathroom, today I was more horrified when I went to the bathroom at school and heard talking. A full conversation between two people. But there was no one around... they were in separate stalls carrying on their conversation. WTF?! Seriously I'm just trying to pee at school if it is that important you can talk to me when I'm washing my hands, please not when I'm trying to take my morning pee from all the coffee I just drank. Am I the only one who thinks this is weird?
